Ethan Jaylib, renowned for his exceptional basketball skills nurtured since early childhood, initiated his sports journey at tender age of three. Fondly dubbed "Sori" by Coach Brian to distinguish him from a teammate sharing his name, Ethan contributed proudly to his teams - Marathon Hoops, Pregame, The Truth OC, and the NYS Lightning.

Despite an eighth-grade setback with a dislocated knee, Ethan's unwavering determination and tireless rehabilitation led to a triumphant return to the court. Securing a position on the Cerritos High School JV basketball team, he played a pivotal role in their victory in the 605 division during junior year, advancing to the varsity squad for an anticipated successful final season. Cerritos High praised him as "the ultimate teammate" with the symbolic hashtag #soristrong.

Beyond athletics, Ethan excelled academically, undertaking difficult AP courses and achieving a commendable 3.5 GPA as a scholar-athlete. Driven by a passion for sports medicine, he aspired to become a future doctor or establish a physical therapy practice, inspired by personal experiences with sports-related injuries.

Ethan's interests extended beyond sports and academics to music, anime, video games, family time, hanging with friends, creating TikToks, drinking boba, working for the City of Cerritos Recreation, and companionship of his three half-pitbull, half-french bulldogs. Actively engaged in extracurricular activities, he showcased talents in traditional and modern dance performances within clubs such as the Key Club, Club Magkaisa, and Club Kaibigan.

Regrettably, Ethan Jaylib, the second son among three siblings, is no longer with us, leaving an irreplaceable void. His departure is marked by profound loss, yet his indomitable spirit, intelligence, and compassionate nature endure in the hearts of those who knew him. Ethan leaves behind a legacy of friendship, love, and wisdom that reaches far beyond the basketball court, encouraging others to embrace hope and integrity. In celebrating his life, we honor Ethan's enduring legacy, as he will continue to serve as a guiding light and inspiration to all.
